Vendors may be charged for using some of Collab Local services. This Fees and Payments Policy explains your fees.

By creating a listing on Collab Local where you will be selling products, offering services or selling event tickets, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

1. Types of Fees

Vendors may be required to pay the following types of fees. Please note that all fees are listed exclusive of any value – added tax that may apply.

  • Subscription Fees

Collab Local Offers different plan subscription offering an expanded set of tools.

  • Transaction Fees

When you make a sale through Collab Local, you will be charged a transaction fee of 10%+30 cents transaction fee of the price you display for each product, service and/or event. This transaction fee will not apply to sales tax, Goods and Services Tax (“GST"), or harmonized Sales Tax (“HST"), unless you have included those charges in your listing price. Transaction fees are deducted from your current balance as each sale occurs, and are reflected in your payment account.

Restaurants will be charged a default fee 20%. +30 cents transaction fee plus other applicable fees depending on the plan you have chosen. Please see our plans and fees policy.

  • Customized landing page fees ( optional)

Collab Local will collaborate with our parent company, Half and Half Social Media Lifestyle on creating a personalized  basic single tab website linked to your Collab Store and with your own domain. A one- time registration fee of  $175CAD is required plus any applicable fees depending on the plan you choose. See plans and fees policy  for details.

2. Taxes

You are sole responsible for collecting and paying any taxes associated with using and making sales through Collab Local services.

3. Payments

  • Third-Party Services

Collab Local has engaged third-party service providers to perform many of the services related to payment processing, including card processing, identity verification, fraud analysis and regulatory compliance.

Collab partners with Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, to facilitate card payments and other payments and the disbursement of funds to vendors. If there are insufficient funds in your bank account when our provider processes the payment for your purchase, Collab Local reserves the right to contact you directly and to seek payment.

Collab Local may share your personal or transactional information with those third-party service providers when it’s necessary to process payments.

By using a third-party service, you may also be subject to an agreement with the third party. For example, PayPal is a third-party service provided by PayPal Holdings, Inc. and is subject to the PayPal User Agreement. Apple Pay is a third-party service provided by Apple Inc. and is subject to the Apple Pay Terms and Conditions. Google Pay is a third-party service provided by Google Payment Corp. Stripe is a third party subject to Stripe Terms and conditions

If Collab receives notice that your listing content or activity violates a third party’s service agreement, we may at our sole discretion take action against your account to comply with their policies. Such actions may include cancelling a transaction, disabling products, services or suspending your listing. 

4. Collab Local’s Rights and Responsibilities

Collab Local Payments functionality may be made available, modified, or discontinued by us at any time without notice.

We will not be liable to a vendor: 

  • if we do not proceed with a transaction, deposit, or adjustment that would exceed any limit established by us, or
  • if we permit a buyer to withdraw from a transaction.

Collab Local may refuse Payments to anyone, for any reason, at any time.

Collab Local reserves the right to decline transactions that we believe to be high risk, fraudulent, or in violation of Collab Local’s Terms of Use.

In the event that a buyer does not make payment for the purchase of a legitimate item sold using Collab Local Payments methods( e.g., where the buyer used a stolen or unauthorized credit card).

Collab Local maintains records associated with transactions and does not pass any secure data, including credit card numbers or bank account information, to any vendors.

5. Seller Rights and Responsibilities

Using Collab Local Payments methods will result in your lusting accepting payment through authorized third party services such as Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. For you to sign up for Collab Local Payments and receive payment for transactions made through Collab Local Payments, you must provide all required information and complete all required steps for compliance purposes.

Vendors are responsible for tracking  payment amounts, refunds, and fees related to transactions and Vendors services. Vendors must provide accurate personal information as requested during registration, and are responsible for maintaining and updating that information as necessary. Collab Local verifies vendors’ information in order to safeguard the integrity of the marketplace and reduce the risk of fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, and the violation of trade sanctions.

6. Payment Processing Fees

Collab Local charges a fee (the ‘Payment Processing Fee’) for processing each transaction through Collab Local Payments. The fee amount will be assessed on the gross order amount, including delivery and tax (if applicable). Payment Processing Fees will be reflected in your payment account and will be deducted from the total amount of the payment at the time the payment is considered complete. We reserve the right to modify the Payment Processing Fee at any time. Deposit fees will be refunded if the deposit is returned to a vendor.

7. Termination

Vendors may terminate this contract at any time by changing their settings on their account or contacting [email protected] This excludes any one year plan. Please refer to plans description for more information. 

Collab Local reserves the right To terminate or suspend a vendor’s use of Collab Local marketplace at any time.
